i'd rather have donuts than a pat on the back.

finals.
i take my last exam in a few minutes shy of three hours.
it seems unreal. i wore pink lipstick and a new pair of lacey unmentionables for luck. <--but that's just pretend, so i pray instead.

at 5o'clock, they'll be two ladies in the donut aisle at the grocery store. it's how we celebrate. i might even buy myself some coffee.

goodbye: 5:30am and late night study sessions.
hello: holiday.

change is love

there something about long drives when the leaves are changing colours. its left me with a sense of contentment. i like october.

i've been drinking my coffee black. its been much needed on road trips these past few weekends. my sister and i are headed back up to washington one last time on monday. our last wedding of the year. we are skipping classes and taking a day for two of our best friends. i am reminded constantly that this season brought something more than a scenery change. joy, love, and friends.

here's to fall.

Ode to summer.

i remember the first day it felt like summer this year.
i wore my dress. and barefeet.
i sat on my front stoop and smiled as i closed my eyes and felt the warm sunshine come down on my face. it was like discovering something all over again. something id forgotten.[it was like i was the first person on earth to discover microwave popcorn.]

but behold,
it was just sunshine.

i miss summer.

now october is here. sweet sweet october.
lets go make memories.

falling all over us

There are days I drop words of comfort on myself like falling leaves and remember that it is enough to be taken care of by myself.
-Brian Andreas

Life was beautiful when i woke up this morning.
partly because the world is changing colours. brava brava!
fall deserves a standing ovation. today and tomorrow and the next day...etc.

love, mandy.
